Matt Siwerski is a visual artist who works across digital media and textiles. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Dunedin School of Art, New Zealand in 2008.  He was first drawn to textiles by ideas of gender politics and fashion. Inspired by a punk DIY ethos and challenging social constructions, Siwerski has since combined skill sets of digital modelling and sculpture with the use of a sewing machine. After winning a National Contemporary Fibre Art Award in New Zealand, he moved to Melbourne, Australia to further establish his practice. Leading to solo exhibitions at Tinning St, Melbourne VIC, and Central Craft, Alice Springs NT. Also featuring artwork on Channel 7's House Rules renovation show and selected for Silpstitch - a touring exhibition (2015 - 2017) featuring new perspectives on contemporary embroidery. Now based in London, UK.
